My cat is a short hair but his coat is very thick. He grooms himself a lot and was having hair balls. This has improved since using this brush as it removes a lot of hair and dust from him He doesn't gag as much and he tolerates the brush being used on him quite well depending on his mood of course. So this is a good brush and I love the fact that the hair is so easy to remove and binned.
